I found a really nice coat at Gordman's for like 12 bucks a few years ago and I get compliments on it all the time.

There's a lot of Goodwills outside of wealthy neighborhoods in Omaha so I go there and find a lot of good quality clothes for barely anything. Hell, I just bought a week's worth of office wear (slacks and button up dress shirts) to replace my previous set I got like 5 years ago. I spent less than $40 for all of it.

I'd rather blow money on good food and fun activities than labels tbh

Again, you're not focusing on quality, fit, materials, construction etc

And I cant wear second hand clothes. My parents made me wear 2nd hand girl clothes until high school so I'm never wearing anything used again

Jesus 2k...just go to suitsupply man. Unless you have a super weird body shape they'll find something that fits you...
I understand but it's such a nice experience imo. Plus with rtw you kinda take a gamble. I like jackets with armholes high enough that when you lift your arms the whole jacket doesn't go up with them or a jacket collar that hugs your collar and doesn't leave a collar gap in motion. Also love a good jacket roll. Also having the ability to pick and choose your fabric, any detail to the jacket and establishing a personal relationship with an 80 year old tailor is too good.

But that's just me.

Suitsupply has about 80% of that experience for 33% of the cost. When I go to SS they give me a cup of tea lmao

How ugly and swagless do you have to be to spend $9k a year on regular clothing? I guarantee if hes making a topic like this, he doesnt make enough to be spending that much.

But again, I have no idea what its like to be a no-mojo internet person, so maybe its less pathetic and more necessary than it sounds.

Excluding shoes, I can get outfits for 50-60 bucks a pop from Costco. No point hitting 3 figures for an outfit for me outside of one for weddings and big events. And even then everybody just rents them if they don't have one.

Btw I'm not telling anyone to spend 9k, that's an expensive year for me too (but obviously I can afford it), but some people literally buy no clothes for years and pretend like it doesnt matter. Yes it matters and yes people can tell

I'm fit so I try to wear as few clothes as possible. It's really difficult as a grown man to find excuses to not wear a shirt around other people.

I spend well over $9k a year cranking up the heat to max in my house and pretending it's broken so when company comes over it seems natural. In the summer I throw pool parties like every day. It really adds up.

That's interesting. Does suit supply do actual custom, as in they make a personal paper pattern, or is it mtm? I'll give them a look in the future

They mostly do off the rack but have a variety of fits that fit most people. In house tailors too. They can do MTM or just custom design but it cost more. I would just go in and get fitted and see what they can do
