That's about where I stopped as well, same sentiment also.

No matter how much bronies say otherwise, "Twilicorn" was a base/show breaker and nothing was ever the same after that.

I legitimately stopped watching any new episodes period when the Cutie Mark Crusaders got their cutie marks in some throwaway ep.

i mean, i think i get what your beef is, judging by what you said about the twilight thing. you think such an occasion should've had more bombast. make that a two-parter or something, right?

i want to point out that crusaders of the lost mark aired on the 5-year anniversary of the show airing. i thought the timing was phenomenal and probably the biggest bomb they could've dropped on that day. everyone in the streams were floored.

you're missing out on some really good pony by stopping at season 3.

I thought Twilight becoming an alicorn should have been the series finale, or a movie (silver screen or small screen, it wouldn't really matter). And I guess there was some show of respect by the crew in advancing the CMC on the fifth anniversary of the show, I didn't know it was the fifth anniversary. Still, big things like that I feel should be saved for special occasions, yes.

Me stopping at Season 3 is more or less for personal reasons. I was heavily involved with a streaming site at the time, and I was really frustrated with the path the site was taking and I was beginning to feel more and more ostracized by the people I was working with. So my leaving was more or less a variety of reasons, and not just because I disagreed with Twilight becoming a Princess at the wrong time.

I stopped following the show in the middle of season 5, not for any reason in particular, I just kinda lost interest.
Though there was that one episode "Equestria Games" that I mistakenly got overhyped about because of thinking
they were gonna show lots of the sports, but it turned out to be an episode focused on Spike.

Someone in another topic recommended an episode that's apparently considered the best, but I don't remember what it was.
