Why do people think there isn't any consequences to having an opinion?

The most readily mantra people use is "it's my opinion" or "freedom of speech" like whatever delusional thing they have to say is protected and people will have to just deal with it. Where do people learn this logic and entitlement from?

You can have an opinion and state it openly, but you must realize others might disagree and feel a need to express their own opinion in response or in kind. If you can't handle disagreement or outright criticism of your opinion then it is best not to state it.

There is no fucking nuance when it comes to things like racism, sexism, or homophobia. I don't care where your view comes from, if it's that certain groups of people don't deserve the same rights and legal protections as everyone else, then it's not valid and never will be.

Same thing with people like Richard Spencer, there is only a binary choice, you are either a neo nazi or you oppose them. Not taking a side benefits the neo nazi. There is no room for nuance in certain things, and this belief that there is needs to stop.

Most of Rogan's opposition comes from the Fallon Fox situation where he took a beating on his socials over it. He says in the same episode about his opposition of male-to-female transitioning persons competing in women's sports and shattering all records, or the damage that Fallon Fox did to her opponents (he does use the right pronouns, though).

People giving you shit and not wanting to associate with you for your opinions is how society works. Not everyone in life is going to agree with or like you, and that's perfectly fine.

And it's not like dudes like Joe Rogan are being suppressed in any sense of the world. Dude has one of if not the most popular podcast in the US(likely globally as well), gets some of the largest view counts for his show, and gets basically any guest on his program that he wants. It's fucking wacky that these same people have convinced themselves they are being "silenced" or "oppressed". Ditto for dudes like Ben Shapiro and his fanboys. You can't be one of the hottest draws in the game while also claiming you're being silenced. Doesn't work that way
