I deal with bedbugs in people's houses when I have to go see patients. Shit really sucks >_> if I think I had a patient with bedbugs in the ambulance, I strip naked in the garage and wash everything in hot water, then take a hot shower lol

The general public is disgusting >_> When they call 911 for an emergency, no one cleans their houses up like they do for guests. You actually see how people live day to day normally. And a lot of them are filthy lol

Bed bugs are not necessarily a hygiene issue. We used to keep them in check with powerful pesticides, but those pesticides were harmful to people so they were banned. Anyone can have bed bugs, now.

I knew what the OP was gonna be when I read the topic title. I knew it, I knew it, I knew it.

If there was one species I legitimately wish would be wiped from this planet, it's bed bugs. They're resilient and hearty little fuckers. Almost all, or all, pesticides are useless against them, they can hide/nest in the most remote and/or tiniest of places, they can go up to a year without feeding, it can cost thousands of dollars to properly treat your home if you have them and even that's not a guarantee as pest control specialists usually send in a specially trained dog to make sure they're all dead afterwards, and if that dog sniffs them they have to treat your property yet again. And they treat your home by heating it up to ludicrous levels of heat, as that's truly the only thing that can kill them - so sucks for you if you left electronics in your home.

Bed bugs are literally the worst fucking species on Earth.

Oh my God, don't get me started.

I used to be a Remodel serviceman for several years and, buddy, the homes that I've entered... their odors I smelled... the questionable stains on walls I've seen...

Worse part is, they're unaware of the filth that they live in or maybe they're complacent, which I can't tell which is worse.

The problem is some people straight up just don't deal with them, so their beds and houses become literal breeding grounds for bed bugs and they spread it to other people and places. I remember we had this drunk guy once and he had bed bugs crawling on his baseball cap and he had bites all over his head and arms. He just never cared to deal with them and just lived with it. Bed bug treatment is expensive apparently and people who live in impoverished areas don't have the money or the desire to save up to eliminate bed bugs from their homes.
