now i'm not knocking banana, a solid 50% of my wardrobe is from there, and the clothes are nice...however they are definitely not high end. it's like entry level babby's first nice clothes. it's the cheapest place i shop lol

Banana Republic is like Polo to me that its like mid-tier in the clothing tiers. I still shop there for shit, nothing wrong w/ BR but it's not Canada Goose, Moncler, Gucci, Versace, Fendi, Prada, etc.

Gap brands seem to like obscene markup and then semi-reasonable "sales". Most of the BR clothes I have (including my go-to spring jacket) are thrifted from places like Crossroads. I'm a sucker for sales, but I'm done playing that game.

I'm ngl, I've shopped at burberry, gucci, hermes etc. banana republic is expensive af and i don't get what market it's trying to cover, you can go to zara and spend less and have more on trend nicer clothes or spend a bit more and start doing contemporary luxury brands, it's such a weird price point imo.

I'm not living paycheck to paycheck and I still would never shop at a place like that. On the rare occasion I need to shop for clothes, thrift stores are my jam. Money saved goes toward retirement or a house.

It's the same parent company, but materials, craftsmanship, fit and quality is def better at BR. It's worth the extra money, I dont shop at the other places
