Stealth rock still feels like it was a huge mistake due to how it devalues any Pokmon with a rock weakness. RIP Charizard with the 4x rock weakness.

Yeah. And unlike spikes, it can't be avoided by anything based on type or ability unless that ability ignores all damage not directly from an attack.

Maybe if it was "can only hit 3 times before fading" or heck, "can only hit a Pokemon once per battle" then it wouldn't be so annoying.

I stopped competitive battling on shoddy in the emerald days, its too much once life takes over

Nowadays, i cant even keep track of whos stats are what, or whatre common team strategies, etc

I haven't really played Pokemon competitive since Diamond/Pearl but I remember the entire meta was based around Stealth Rock and/or Toxic Spikes and it sucked. How has that still not been addressed

I mean at least 5th gen introduced that hidden ability that would bounce them back. Not that the things which could use it were really okay to use in 6th gen. :/

Nah, first month will have something like the Gen 5 "reuniclus too strong (but mostly we haven't figured out how to use the new Pokemon and moves)" problem... or the Gen 6/7 "Aegislash/ pheromosa op" problem that will define the entire generation's meta.

For what it's worth, I put the most time into gen 4's meta and it was the least enjoyable out of any besides pre ORAS gen 6 for me.

I always hoped that rock types could absorb stealth rock on switch in and heal 1/8 of their health or something. Using the rocks to restore their body.

Aegislash, Toxapex, and Ferrothorn are still in while most of their counters aren't. Also, Galar Weezing will probably be used in like 90% of teams, especially in doubles

So that means in a month you'll be crying that Eternus spam is making the game boring and that all of his potential checks and counters are banned. The culling gives less competitive options.

I already said why.

No legends
No psuedo legends
People might actually have to strategize instead of using brute force or banning whatever us giving them trouble

That's the issue with modern Pokemon. The solution to every problem is either hit it really hard or complain to the higher ups and get it banned. Except for Stealth Rock for some odd reason.
