I know a lot of GameCube games can output 480p, while PS2 games dont at all, but thats not my biggest sell right now. Ill probably be growing my PS2 library back up sometime in the future, but are there any games that would be much better to play on GameCube than PS2 for performance or any other reasons?

Shoot what you got, theres not too many games I have in mind, Im mostly curious! Anything that can even remotely be considered worth picking up, Im interested in hearing about!

Not many. The Gamecube discs couldn't hold as much data as the PS2 or Xbox Discs.

007: Nightfire maybe just because of the four controller ports and Wavebird controller?

If you wanna count OOT, but even then there's the 3DS version out there now...

I would agree. Thing is, it's on like every console now, so I doubt anyone considers the PS2 port to be the definitive version at this stage (as GCN was better running the game to begin with).

Might as well get the Wii Version for a fun time or the PC version with HD support.

One of the big reasons Im thinking is performance. I hear that Sonic Heroes, for instance, doesnt run as well on PS2, than GameCube.

I guess multiplayer games are another reason though!

Also shouldve clarified that I meant specifically multiplatform games within PS2/GCN/Xbox territory. Stuff thats been remade or remastered Im considering on a per-game basis right now.

Might make those TMNT games fun having the four players, too.

PS2 probably had a four player adapter though...so...It depends.

Does Skies of Arcadia count? It has not been re-released at all, and has a few extra missions differing from the Dreamcast version.

Problem is because the discs can't fit as much data as the Dreamcast, the music quality suffers a little. The music was compressed and it's noticeable when you compare it to the sound of the Dreamcast.

Then again, you get those extra quests...
Also, no VMU mini game.

DC discs fit 1GB, but a GC disc fits 1.5 GB. Not saying the music thing didn't happen, but that can't be the reason.

Sounds like you're comparing GC and PS2 rather than all 3. From that generation, Xbox versions generally had the upper hand. The console was more powerful than PS2 and GC I believe. Plus Microsoft paid for exclusive content for a lot of multiplat games to help with system sales.

Killer7. Better loading times and graphics supposedly.

I think so. There are quite a few positive changes/improvements, including shorter loading times, less frequent random battles (and some EXP rebalancing along with it), extra content as you said (more Discoveries, Bounties, the Piastol/Moonfish quest, etc.), and more I'm forgetting. Aside from the music, the GC version is clearly the definitive one.

True, but there are quite a few multiplats on 2 or 3 out of the 4 consoles (or 2/3 if you discount the DC).

You arent wrong there, tbh. I dont have an original Xbox and I dont have any plans to get one anytime soon, if Im being honest. Maybe some day, but not for a long while Id imagine.
