I'm 26 and while I do have a job andsupport myself, I have very little to spare for much else. Trying to date women around my age is difficult because most women around my age have a kid already and expect on some level a partner to help them.

My solution? Lots of people here are gonna hate this, but aim much younger and much older. No, not THAT much younger.

The age ranges I aim for are 18-22 and 40+. Now I know a lot of CEmen are puritanical as hell and still view 18-22 year old girls as children, and i expect lots of hate from those CEmen, but what can ya do?18-22 year old girls are generally still in college and don't really care how much you make as long as you're not 100% broke and unemployed, and very few of them have kids they expect you to help take care of. I do not want kids, but If i ever do take care of a child it will be my own, not another dudes. And yes, most girls that age are more than open to dating a guy in their late 20s.

40+ women are also easy because theyre just glad to be fucking a young guy.

18-25 is the best age for women, dating them at that age is what most smart men do, never waste your time with a single mother, you will get baby daddy drama and all kinds of stupid shit you do not need.

Some dudes like 40 and older women but it's never appealed to me at all, but if your having fun blowing those older women's back's out then have at.

Honestly Ill go like 17 years if it works it works. But somehow 20 is still
my arbitrary cutoff

also when Im 60 itll still be 20 if I could
pull it off. So by then itll be 40 years. Dont even lie either.... all dudes are
the same or lying. Id quote Ryan oreilly from Oz but thats a bit far.

Thats not bad. Im sure it takes some understanding on your part. The fianc and I are 26(m) and 23(f) and I have to remind myself that I mightve done a little more in those three years that would give me a better understanding of the world.

i mean yeah the ones youd find attractive and who are not totally batshit crazy are.

Also I dont have a problem dating single
moms besides my track record of short term relationships.

I got attached to a kid once and couldnt deal with it when I realized his mom was basically disinterested in him. I felt horrible
taking her time away from him and even worse breaking it off when he was already attached to me even if it was for the best.

But when you can't do it on your own, what are you going to do?

Those exceptions absolutely exist. Its all a matter of finding them and appreciating if you want to keep things going. For example:

My fianc is super hot and is totally fine with spending days indoors on the couch watching anime or playing PokemonGo with me. Shes very low maintenance, loves animals, and never takes my sarcasm as an attack. Shit is great.

literally speaking she makes $0.92/hour in a minimum wage country. That is 7.65% right now.

my friend was dating a single mom for like three days, she introduced him to her parents and everything, her mom asked him if he loved her and put him on the spot about being there for her and her kid, and i guess he lied and said yes, but broke up with her shortly after, and I was just like, dude, you knew she had a kid, you knew you don't want to be her kid's dad, and you know you aren't ready to take care of ANY kids, you strung that girl along and wasted her time, even worse, might have actually got her hopes up for something real

26 with a kid? Wow, things must be very different where you are vs where I am, or at least the people you're mixing with. When I was 25 I had just come out of a long term relationship and started dating someone my age from work. Most girls I knew my age didn't have kids - or at least in my professional sphere. Some had been engaged but broken off for whatever reason, but that was about as much baggage as there was.

That being said, I do know a few who have had kids and successfully found someone and married with the father (my friend in this case) treating the kid as his own (and then having two). It does work IRL but I guess it takes commitment and adjustment. If that's not you, then move on.

Turning down single moms is fine. Some of them really DON'T have their acts together. And for many of them, THAT's exactly how they ended up in their messes to begin with. Poor life choices and habits of irresponsibility.

I say the same thing to women not interested in dating problematic single parents either (some single dads can be just as ridiculous). No one's obligated to play hero. And as far as raising families, some people want to start fresh with their own batch or not have any kids at all. That's a fair decision whether you're a woman or a man.

A common trend I've noticed among modern single parents having dating dilemmas is that many of them don't know or bother to keep things appealing for the new partner those first few months (the "trial period"). Many of them make the ugly mistake of immediately dropping all responsibility of adjustment on the new partner's shoulders (a VERY common mistake by single parents). It's not an attractive selling point, especially when the kids are making things difficult for the newcomer and the parent refuses to be a peacekeeper.

What that kind of ultimatum typically does is offer a deal of shared responsibility with zero authority. Naturally it's a very unappealing proposition to someone unrelated to the kids and it shouldn't be surprising when dates don't call back...

What I've told the single moms in my friends list to do to help their issues with keeping a partner is:
- get your house in order BEFORE the new partner walks in and that includes the kids' behavior
- don't drop ultimatums on someone who's not invested yet (that trial period is real).
- respect the new partner as much as you want them to respect your household. Letting the kids walk all over them is disrespect...

Some single parents got their shit in order and are worth a shot. The others are not.

His general stance (like most numbskulls on here) is that single mothers are subhuman. It's fine to be wary about dating single mothers since there's an extra factor most people aren't going to be prepared for, while still treating them like people

I never said anything that treated them like subhumans, what I said was that most have baby daddy drama, and other stupid shit to deal with.

I say "never waste your time on them" because most single mothers do NOT have their life together, and just because some actually are adults with their shit together does not mean they are "the rule". I'd say 9/10 single mothers are not worth the drama, or the head ache, just because there are a few that are decent dating or marriage partners does not mean it's a risk worth taking for most people.

If you find a single mother that is not some batshit psycho who's adult life does not consist of one bad decision after another then go for it, but let's not pretend that isn't rare as hell.
