I know it's not the popular opinion, but I think Portman was the worst part of the prequels.

Lloyd was a little kid, Best was simply told to turn his acrobatics act into a character and Christensen while whiny and awkward af, at least made sense in the context of the films, not to mention he looked the part in three when he didn't have to say goofy lines. And since most of those lines are said with Portman...yeah.

I'll give her credit that she has far improved as an actress in recent years (Hell Hayden did too), but she was far and away my least favorite part of the prequels.

I can agree with this tbh

I mean, you can pick just about anything in the PT and make a compelling argument that it was the worst part.

That stupid fish monster that attacks them in the sub on the Gungan planet? WTF did that have to do with anything? They never mention it before, or after, it doesn't reveal anything about characters, and plus, it looks stupid. At least Anakin's "I don't like sand" line was supposed to accomplish something. Sure, it came out awkward af but it's where Anakin is supposed to show he has a poetic, sensitive side, and that Padme is attracted to it. I mean, from a story perspective, it works. It just got a super awkward transtition to script. But fish monster? TF was that even supposed to accomplish? Gungan planet is a treacherous place, I guess? I mean, are the Gungans going through the center of the planet regularly? Why don't we see other examples of this? Georgie boy just wanted an action scene at that point and this was the best they could come up with lol.

Probably the best of the Prequels but they are all really bad so that's not saying a whole lot. >_>

Just found out that another trilogy was planned following the OT and that Return of the Jedi is essentially 4 movies mashed into one. Apparently Leia was only made Luke's sister to fulfil the "there is another" in Empire Strikes back, and the person Yoda was referring to never even showed up. Wack.

I can't find anything about this on Google, but it would explain a lot about the film, like why it has multiple subplots that it goes through at lightspeed, why some of them feel like filler and how they evidently built the second Death Star in like four or five years.

I never liked how Palpatine one-shots like every Jedi Master when they go to arrest him.

Heh. I actually thought of that while I was typing that up and was like "huh."

Of course you realize I picked that scene entirely at random.

I suppose one pro to the slug was it showed us a more cautious side of Han's charatcter after he spent the entirety of Hope being as reckless as possible. But yeah, the same criticisms mostly apply.

I'm all for picking apart the prequels but I think some scenes are just there for entertainment purposes. That giant fish creature was there for a chase sequence and the punchline of "there's always a bigger fish" and the space slug was there for a scary moment.

I'm okay with scenes like those as long as it doesn't dawdle too long on it.

Best of the prequels

Final fight is 10/10, everything from the conversation between P and A and the fight between A and O and the climax and the birth of Vader as we know and love

Literally watched that scene a couple hours ago

Maybe not 10/10 but there's nothing wrong with that line. Everyone who is not on your side is not necessarily your enemy but that's the point Anakin has come to

It's a direct callback to George Bush.

Lucas meant for the PT to be political commentary.

But then we wouldn't have gotten that line about how there's always a bigger fish.

Also, TC do you have any plans to go the full distance and watch The Clone Wars?
