The biggest flaw of KOTOR 2 is that we'll never see a proper follow up to it. KOTOR has the edge since it's a full story.

But damn the interpretation of the Force is just so damn good. I love it. Kreia is the best Star Wars character ever.

weren't they going to make a KOTOR 3 that had the main characters of 1 and 2 meet up? I thought I heard that once. but it got canceled. and then they just turned what would have been KOTOR 3 into a novel I think. and they mentioned it also in the Old Republic mmo as background lore

Kreia honestly kinda blew ass.

I mean I can see how the whole gray-Jedi thing is cool to someone...but from just a standpoint of good vs. evil, Kreia was absolutely awful and just listening to her talk everytime I made an action "ARE YOU SURE THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA?"

she's not even a gray jedi, she's a teacher in the most literal sense of the word. her lesson (and the overarching theme of kotor 2 honestly) being that your actions have far reaching unforeseen consequences. the most powerful people, not just jedi, are those who can foresee such consequences. it's why she has such a hate boner for the force, an outside force that commonly manipulated history in the backround. it's part of why she disliked atton, "the fool," one who despite all odds and reasoning should've perished long ago that keeps being guided to safety simply because the force favors them. it's also why she dislikes it when your reasoning for doing something boils down to "for the shits and giggles," which in universe is about the same as "jesus take the wheel"

it's why she takes such a profound interest in the exile. they weren't expelled from the force, they left it.

KOTOR 2 gave us Darth Sion and Nihilus

Some dangerous boys they were. Sion being held together by literal hatred was the pinnacle of edge. Loved it.

Yeah KOTOR 2 has the most interesting adaptation of the Force. Better than any of the movies.

You've got;
The Exile who is cut off from the Force and perhaps can represent the death of the Force
Kreia who wants to kill off the Force
Sion who is held together by the Force through pure hatred
Nihlus who consumes the Force
Revan who fell to the Dark Side as a sacrifice to prepare for a greater threat

Even KOTOR 1 had;
The Jedi using the Force to brainwash a Sith Lord into being good and an extremely likeable Jolee who believes in love over the Jedi Order.

Kotor 2 had a lot of potential but just never felt fleshed out enough. I recently replayed through it and it was almost depressing to see how much more room there was to explore and build the story.

I really wish I could play them again. Those and Mass Effect. I have a PC, but I think both of them require Keyboard and Mouse, and I simply can't function like that

I do think I own Knights Of The Old Republic on Steam, but I couldn't get it to work. I can run a lot of modern games are really good settings, but some of the older ones seem to bug out on me
