Yeah, sucks that this one move completely keeps certain pokemon *cough* Charizard *cough* from ever seeing the light of day

I feel like a good nerf would be that it only affects the next pokemon that comes out. That way you can control what the opponents throws out next a bit. But having it last the entire battle unless you waste a weakass move on some pokemon to get rid of it is so dumb

The funny part is how at the start of each gen they remove move tutors so that a large portion of Pokemon with access to it can't anymore but then at the next games of the gen move tutors make it so that all the previous Pokemon plus any new ones of the gen can get access to it again. It's literally happened every gen after 4 since it was removed as a TM in 5. Not that I'm against it, just find it amusing.

...

Im all aboard the stealth rock hate train.

But this is just a terrible post.

1) Having it only affect the next pokemon makes it virtually worthless and you might as well just delete it then

2) Rapid spin is not a waste just because its not powerful.

But you can just transfer pokemon from the last gen with it.

Yeah, I see a 1 to 1 correlation between Charizard lovers and 'nerf stealth rock' brigade

I dont like Charizard and I'm on that brigade.

I still dont understand other than "dragons are cool" how Charizard was ever more popular than Venusaur, and even Blastoise.

Gen 6 and 7 and probably 8 had a buffer of a few months before transferring was ready. Also transfer Pokemon can't get any new abilities/egg moves that could've been given.

Whats so bad about stealth rock

It takes 25% off pokemon weak to rock and 50% off pokemon double weak to rock (ie: Charizard, Volcarona) just by being sent out. So it basically prevents people from ever using those types at all cuz they're pretty much dead on arrival. It's so dumb.

With a single turn of setup, pokes like Charizard and Volcarona lost half of their health on switch in

Speaking of Volcarona, it takes damage from rocks AND spikes. Yet it's OU in gen 5, 6 AND 7. And that's without 2 OP megas with completely opposite counters and just 6 more BST

It's almost like good Pokmon are good whether or not SR exists

They already threw a bone to the Charizard fanboys by making Mega Charizard X a Fire/Dragon type

The issue here is that Rock is one of the best attacking types in this game and it fucks over a lot of Pokmon because of this (Fire, Ice, Bug, Flying). One of my favorites for example, Volcarona, is a fragile sweeper. Think of how much more viable it would be if Stealth Rock didnt exist
