Is it like my anime? Can I be like Sugoroku Mutou (Solomon Muto to you gaijins and really live off a children's card game that's based on old Egyptian magic?

But really, why the fuck do people use trains all the time? Can't they walk?

Japan is closest to Final Fantasy 8, where you can run around, press the Square button, and almost anyone will play Triple Triad with you.

That sounds absolutely disgusting.
If it were Tetra Master, that would be bomb

Japan is nothing like most anime. anime is how they wish Japan was. kids in school really don't have as much free time as anime makes it seem. basically by the time you hit jr high you are stressed out. only grader schoolers and younger can really enjoy being kids. starting at jr high, you are under pressure to work hard

She's registered in some US online high school so there's that. I don't think it's proper home schooling with her parents/tutor though

Yes, everything over there is settled with a children's card game. The police also use invisible guns.

But I thought the police all studied Karate on Okinawa and used laser guns?

I use trains to get around here. It's rare that I get a super crowded train, but I don't live in a big city. That said I travel a lot for work, including to big cities like Tokyo and Osaka, and I still rarely land on a crowded train. It's really just rush hour where that happens and my work lets me start my day a little later (I hate morning so I tend to start around 10 AM, but I technically don't have fixed hours). Trains here are just really great, busses are great here too, always on time, clean, and no violent people/drug addicts. The busses in Seattle were awful by comparison.
