US has East coast vs West coast. Does Canada have the same thing going on up there?

Not to my knowledge but I'm in Toronto so no where near a coast essentially. I always hear how crap Ottawa is as a capital and how it should be Toronto.
I guess we care a lot more about who has the best hockey team also

It's all fishing villages and ports. It's nice if you want some nice hoking trails and road trips I guess though. The whole region is a very reliable Liberal stronghold so they're not all bad though.

West coast at least has Vancouver and Victoria.

Toronto and Ottawa are the best cities in the country IMO

Eh, it's pricey but it's a great place to live.

Sure, you can buy property in other provinces for cheaper but it's also just plain worth less.

Like I could buy a ranch house in rural Saskatchewan for a fraction of what I'd pay on BC but the downside is I'd be living in Saskatchewan

I've got a few friends who live in Ottawa and the joke around the city is that (since Ottawa basically shares a boarder with Quebec) that when the wind blows the right direction you get the smell of cigarettes that comes across from the land from french canada.

We don't because there's no argument over which one is better. For the most part the East Coast is poor as shit and people are leaving it to move to other parts of the country for employment. Plus they basically get the same weather as New England does, just worse.

Mostly it's just "Which city is the best to live in".

Unless you're living in one of the cities, I don't see how.

No real scenery to speak of, no major attractions, conservative rule, anyone who wants to make anything of themselves moves elsewhere.

I'm much closer to Toronto but Montreal is probably the coolest city in Canada. It's got much more of a European vibe to it. Plus it's got one of the best punk scenes in all of Canada.

Vancouver > Montreal I've been to both recently and it's no comparison. Montreal is a poor man's Paris and try hard. Paris isn't even as "french" as Montreal tries to be.

Montreal is fun as shit with cool restaurants and nightlife. But its shitty af to live there permanently. You couldnt pay me to go back. I havent visited the rest of Canada, other than Ottawa which was really bland and boring. Ive wanted to visit Toronto and Vancouver but now that Im in CA I have no real desire to go north at all when its time for a vacation.
