I'm sure they'll manage to shit post just fine. Despite this trooper putting his life on the line to save a stranger.

yea he gets mad when we call out a cop for killing a person in their own home. Good on this guy, though. Happy the man was saved.

The police help people every day. It is rare when an idiot who should not be an officer makes the news. Sometimes during a dry spell of bad cops a narrative is formed based on a lie.

Helping citizens is what police do literally thousands of times everyday. I agree more stories like this might be useful for the rabid cop-hating crowd we have here.

Why? this is literally what they're supposed to do and how they're supposed to act...its their job. When a Sales clerk curses out a customer and calls them a racist name it becomes news....do you want a million articles of "man rings up customer, transaction goes great"?

There should be more of the good stories published for all to see, even if they seem "everyday". But media already knows that sensation and conflict get clicks and attention from people so all the bad incidents get a lot of coverage. While good stories like this remain on the back burner.

Probably because there isn't an army of dumbasses on the Internet who spam things like "all sales clerks are bastards."

Yeah but the point is action-movie scenarios arent happening like this all the time even if police help communities in smaller ways all the time the same way cashiers do.

Exactly. If the same sales clerk did this it would also be news....But things like this don't happen all the time, and a cop doing their job right shouldn't be news...if we've gotten to that point then its obvious something is wrong.

You continue to live up to your username. Did I say that no bad stories of bad police should be published? Did I say only good stories of good police should be published? Did I say there was a disproportionate amount that are and are not published? In case you decide to deflect the answers are; no, no and yes.

Source? Its actually not a very dangerous job by the numbers. My dad was a garbageman and he was more likely to die on duty than were he a cop.
