I'm not anti nuclear, but solar and wind are much cheaper to install and can be installed much more quickly than nuclear. There are also many benefits to decentralization of energy production, which you don't really get from nuclear reactions. More resiliency, easier to upgrade piecemeal as tech improves, easier for communities to manage the energy for quality rather than profit (similar to community-run internet), etc. More nuclear would be nice but it takes a long time to build and has to be managed by a central authority. --- Do good. TC, please tell us what you do in finance specifically.@The_Admiral I work in financial planning (read: wealth management) for HNWIs, doing market research and a data modelling. even though I do grub work (it's what I like, but its still grub work), I hear stories all the time from upper management about how these rich fucks are basically clueless morons who inherited massive amounts of wealth and go to companies like us to reassure them and give them good returns (most of the industry don't even beat normal mutual funds when you average over a period of years, but w/e, puts food on my table). I don't deal with it much now since I'm at the bottom of the totem pole, but once I reach a point where I regularly have to have face-to-face client exposure I am not sure I'll be able to take it. I do somewhat regret switching my major to finance and going into wealth management though. My prospect has always been to help those who were abused by this system by teaching them how to get by (401ks, business advice, budgeting, etc, that's why I went into financial planning) but its literally nothing but trust fund work. ... Well I hope I can luck into being a billionaire. Any ideas? You make it sound easy.here's a list: 1. Be white 2. Be born into a privileged high class family 3. Have married, well-educated parents, preferably both with HYP degrees w/ legacies at those schools. 4. Have them finance whatever ideas you have in your head, doesn't matter if they fail, they have enough money to try again. OR get a job at your rich relative/friend's company raking in millions until you have the right amount of connections and enough luck to capitalize on a big success. alternately, you can just be born as a Walton, Disney, Rockefeller, Vanderbilt, etc. and live a life of luxury. ...
