My mind is an open book, do you find it entertaining? At least be original in your responses then.

Friends, going out to concerts and discovering new band through the support acts, hearing stuff in bars.

Spotify also has incredible algorithms for accurately predicting music YouTube never heard before but will really like.

Sometimes through Twitch streams. For example the last month or so I've been regularly watching a WoW streamer who has really good taste in trance music (especially European dance music from the 00's) which he often plays in the background.

RYM , Youtube, and Spotify. For example, I hear a song used in a Youtube video and want to know what it is, afterwhich I look the artist up on RYM and Spotify and to learn what else they've made. I may also check what genre of music the song is, and then explore that genre through other artists.

It's sad that zine's aren't much of a thing anymore. That was always my go-to source for finding out about new bands when I was growing up.

YouTube suggestions based off music you listen to works. Unless youre extremely eclectic or cant find a good base reference. Gotten into a bunch of underground rappers that I would likely have never heard of otherwise.

Research the origins of music I already liked. What'd some of those people do before that, where was this scene years prior, what inspired it.
It's not the first research idea I'd opt for but once it started seriously coughing up some winners it's become my go-to.
