patient does not have diabetes, an infection/illness/cancer, arthritis. with only that information what will you conclude and whats the minimum ferritin level that would alarm you?

Not a doctor, but a quick search says a typical range is 20 to 500 nanograms per milliliter for men and 20 to 200 for women.

Awesome posted...so you wouldnt conclude that the person is loading on iron due to being a mutation in an hfe gene and is getting sick? when ferritin hits 1,000 organ damage is mostly inevitable, the point with hemochromatosis is to run tests early in their lives and prevent ferritin from ever reaching that point. doctors seem to be confused with end stage hemochromatosis and and loading up on iron and feeling symptoms. its interesting how much misinformation there is about this and its pretty dangerous whats going on. --- Hello. ...
