My son asked me about the n-bomb last night because I was singing along to Tupac and the word was in the song. He asked me what that word meant, I explained to him that it was a word that was used to refer to slaves back when slavery was legal, then became a word that was used to demean black people after slavery was abolished and still is and is considered very racist, while being a word that black people sometimes use to reference themselves or other black people. He asked me what racism is and I told him that it is basically when a person thinks people of the same colour as them are better than people with different skin colour. He said that didnt make any sense because skin colour doesn't have anything to do with the kind of person you are. I was happy to hear that, but I wasn't sure where else to go with the conversation so I told him he was right and that some people just fucking suck.

Children are the best thing in this world. They see no race, no skin color, no ethnicity. They judge other children on how they are treated and if they share or play nice and give them hugs.

Adults could learn a thing or two from the innocent.

Ha ha. That reminds me of an issue my daughter had at school. There are only 2 girls in my daughter's class and they were really good friends up until recently.(they are 4 years old.) I'm not 100% percent sure about what happened, but it was something along the lines of my daughter had a toy that the other girl wanted to play with, and she wouldn't give it up. So this other little girl started whispering to her so the teachers couldn't hear it, about how she doesn't like her anymore, they are friends anymore and just kept going on for a couple days, until my daughter snapped and said, "I don't care, i don't like you and you're not my friend anymore." Well she didnt say it quiet and the teacher heard her and gave her shit because "that's not a nice thing to say to other people." She didn't give my daughter a chance to explain what happened and this really upset my daughter. When she came home and was visibly upset my wife and I talked with her to find out what happened. Then my wife went in with her to talk to the teacher, the teacher then confronted the other little girl and gave her more trouble for being so sneaky about it. Made my daughter feel better knowing that we are always there to listen and help her out when she needs it.

That's the romantic way of looking at it when it works out like that.

Alternatively, you hear about kids making fun of others for being fat or having glasses.

Like adults, all kids are different. You have the good ones, and the bad ones.

This is very true, and I still am not sure if it is nature vs. nurture because despite me doing the best I can to raise both our kids the same my daughter has a bad habit of being dishonest over the most innocuous things, our son never lies but she for some reason always does.

You can't always help it since kids get nurture from sources other than just their parents. Even if you have tried to raise them equally (although this isn't completely possible either), your daughter might have picked up being dishonest as a way to get ahead from some other person or form of media.

That is true, and I will concede that it is very difficult to raise them exactly the same because they are different people with different needs, but I do my best to be as impartial and unbiased when it comes to everything. My wife on the other hand has a slight bias to our daughter and she has admitted it to me, which sucks for our son but that is something she needs to work on and fix.

Also her bias is caused because she got pregnant with our son when she was still in party life mode and our daughter was one we were trying for so I understand why she feels that way and it's not like she out right favours her, there are just a lot of subconscious things that she does that show a bias towards our daughter and I am afraid that if she doesn't deal with it he is eventually going to start figuring it out.
