24 y/o Emily Clow (who looks older than she is) from Austin, Texas was SHOCKED when the company she applied for PUBLICLY SHAMED her by sharing one of her BIKINI pics on instagram and said "looking or a professional marketer, not a bikini model"!!

She applied to Kickass Masterminds that later posted a picture of her in a caption as emily has called them out for objectifying her and has since received more than 2000 likes on twitter.

The company was founded by female entrepreneur, Sara Christensen who has disabled or privatized all of its accounts due to the response

The original instagram post has been deleted but was reposted by twitter account@SheRatesDogs talking about the company telling people NOT to hire Emily because of her photos that seems to paint her as UNINTELLIGENT

Emily said "I was objectified earlier today by a company because of a picture of me in a bikini. They claimed it made me 'unprofessional'. I am still baffled that the company handled it in such a manner"

She has since received overwhelming response from users to her defense and calling out the company for public shaming as Emily thanked people, particularly women for the support

Sara said "The woman in question was not disqualified beause of her social media profile. In fact, she was not disqualified at all. There was no communication to her saying she was dq'd She requested i removed it and i did immediately and i apologize"

Sara says they were looking for "serious" people who cared about their careers and not people who "party" all the time which is how she saw Emily's public instagram profile and not someone who was serious of a career in marketing

But Emily disputes that and knew right away from that post that she didn't get the job as a company would not post that looking to tell people not to hire her because of her photos

The bikini model thing was uncalled for but I just skimmed through her Instagram.

Practically her whole account is nothing but her drunk at clubs, or on vacations.

I feel like the bikini thing was just a cheapshot and the real reason she didn't get hired is because she's obviously a party animal.

I hate the fact that modern employers feel the need to pry into peoples personal lives, but it's reality. As someone who took PR, clean social media accounts is like lesson one, so I'm surprised a marketing student wouldn't know this.

That said, yes duckbear, she's hot.

I do believe that social media accounts are misleading. I think we've gotten to a part where yeah, most of everyone has been a teenager and early 20's and does/says dumb stuff. Like let's be real now. Past generation probably would've expressed some radical religious agendas and insane racist shit if they had social media and stuff. So many things have been done behind closed doors, and not all of it is criminal.

I don't go out and get drunk, but I also wouldn't jump to conclusions about people who post when they party.

What I'd watch out for is if content pieces together to suggest a person has an agenda of sorts. There's a difference of habit/recreation (not necessarily productive), and intent for destruction. This girl being a tryhard isn't a reason for me to rule her out. Maybe in some eyes she's kinda a loser, but that's just in respect to what she does with her own time, not necessarily what she could be doing on company time.

I say the bikini thing is a representation of her lifestyle. I don't at all feel sorry for her. She shared her social media with them so she should be aware they were judging her. She probably got complacent given that the name of the company was "Kickass Masterminds".

I suppose the company could have handled this with considerably more tact by sitting down with her privately to teach her how to behave. But that requires time and effort... No no, this is the real world and kids these days need to grow up, why bother with any kind of mentorship and supporting one's community as a whole?

Holy shit. I can't believe that this is a real story.

Yes, all companies discriminate based upon your social media. But for an actual company to come out and publicly shame a specific person because of it...holy crap!

I use to help with the background checks for my cities police department while on internship. It mostly consisted of sending social media links to a third party. They third party would return a report for any posts that had a specific keyword in it like: Bomb, Obama, Police, Weed, etc.

By law all social media companies based in the US need to provide these reports for people pursuing a job in law enforcement. The report would return everything from Facebook to Tinder, and honestly it's probably the best indicator for NOT hiring racist or unhinged police officers.

When I was there I actually broke protocol. I noticed that two of my old college buddies were applying, so I conveniently cycled their folders to the very bottom of the bin so I wouldn't get to them for a few days. I then told them to scrub their pages clean. One did and got hired. The other laughed at me...and was DQ'ed.

The funny thing is what he got DQ'ed for was for wearing a Dragonball Z wig as his profile picture while having very little posting history. If you have too little posting history, and all you are posting is anime pictures, and other strange stuff...well...it paints you as a weirdo. Every single Facebook profile that has less than 12 posts a year made gets flagged for individual review by the department. Makes it look like you are trying to hide something. In the end, he was disqualified for being a "cross-dressing weirdo"

Its just for police officers. They want their lives to be public.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure its actually illegal for the third party to provide the reports for anything other than a government acency. There is literally only one third party that is approved to do these types of reports, and they serve every single police department in America. Probably like the FBI & CIA as well...umm...actually maybe not. They might be "above" it.

Given how part of their business is forming relationships with their clients, their personal lives, intentionally posted in public, will certainly matter. The applicant could have very well posed as a liability and turn off potential clients.

While what company did was shitty, this is why I don't use social media or my real name in anywhere I do post on the internet. Because fair, next and/or like it or not once you post something on the internet it is in public domain and/or can be hacked. And it's surprisingly just not just a younger generation of people that grew up with the internet. It's people my age still posting stupid and/or private stuff on the internet and then like "what, someone saw/read that?"

All that said, someone get that gal to a all you can eat buffet stat.
