The reason why smoking should be illegal is because it affects other people. If the person smoking wants to be unhealthy and ruin his health that is his business, but why should other people health get affected from said person smoking.

Many people don't care if their smoking affects or annoys other people, they just walk near, stand near or sit near not caring if their smokes goes to the other person. Normally the person smoking doesn't care were the smokes goes to.

Heck once outside Burger King there this woman who had a baby in the pram, whenever she smokes and she blew her smoke at her baby the baby would cry. The mum got annoyed and told the baby of. After a few second of the mum not smoking the baby stopped crying. When the mum was smoking again and blew her smoke at the baby the baby cried. WTF is the woman so stupid not to realize that smoking is bad and the baby doesn't like it. Basically the woman was forcing the baby to breathe her smoke.

Agreed. Most of what you want to smoke can be ingested some other "only you" way. And burnt matter causes cancer.

Trace amounts of benzene may cause cancer, but the greater culprit is polonium contamination.

The fact are smoking harms the person smoking plus the people near the smoker. People shouldnt have to move just because a smoker comes near them and starts smoking.

Although things has gotten better over the years, before smoking was allowed anywhere. Before inside restaurants, works, offices, etc, used to allow smoking inside with no smoke free area at all. Nowadays smoking indoors isnt allowed, although there are no rules for outdoors at all.

Yo, even matchabuu hates smokers. We shouldnt smoke to please all the cegals here tbh

The real reason is if we want universal healthcare or healthcare in general to be sustainable, affordable and viable while still leaving funds for anything else we need to be fucking healthier.

Ciggarettes, and rampant obesity got to go.

Fuck freedom in this case. No one has the freedom to profit on getting people addicted to an inherently harmful and addictive substance.

Alchohol is a losing battle though and is perfectly fine in moderation.

I'd argue obesity is worse than smoking

I hate smoking with the passion of a thousand burning suns (I know, I misquoted that), but public service campaigns tend to get better results than legislation alone.
