Current Events > Do any of y'all stream on Twitch? Do you have any tips?

I've been streaming for all of two days kind of bouncing around different games. Smash seems like a no-go unless I already have a built audience, just because of how highly populated that game is as far as streamers go. Ideally I want to focus on RPG's and JRPG's, but right now I've only managed to hook up the Switch to my Elgato so my options are somewhat limited to Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, Pokemon, and Monster Hunter (if that even counts).

I'm on my second playthrough of Fire Emblem but this is also a pretty tough crowd still to sneak into. Pokemon's dead until SWSH. Monster Hunter's just too niche I think. and Xenoblade's dead but I haven't played the Torna DLC expansion much so I tried my hand at it but it's just kind of boring.

So I dunno where to go from here but I customized my stuff pretty nicely so I'd hate for it to all go to waste. Any tips?

I do occasionally, but I freak out if anyone actually watches, especially if I'm on camera. I would stream some switch games but the software I use crashes for some reason if I try that. :/

Variety streaming is a bit hard unless you have a dedicated audience. I think before going into the games you want to play (rpgs and whatever else) you need to get big from one of the popular games on twitch first (League, CSGO, Fortnite, ect.). Once you have an audience from those games then transition it into whatever games you want to play.

Generally you have to be either great at the game or extremely funny for people to tune in. The other way I usually see people get big is from just planting themselves in other peoples streams and getting big through them. People spam in chats to get recognized and followed.

If you dont wanna go that route I guess just promote yourself everywhere you can. The more your name is out there the more likely it is people will tune in. Hell I made my friends twitch one of my account names in a game and people always ask if I am streaming so maybe go that route for views too.

It takes a long time to get going so if you really want it you have to stick with it for a while, dont get discouraged and just always keep the streams going whenever you play something.

The first thing you should do is a be a hot girl with big tiddies. Second, wear a low cut shirt. Reeeaally low cut. Zoom your webcam way in there. Make sure your gameplay only occupies about 20% of the screen. After that you should have a large audience in no time! :)

Have fun and dont expect anything out of it. Platform is completely saturated. the best way to "break through" is to find a niche, be first in streaming a game, or having a gimmick.

Yeah, having a niche is important. I wasn't expecting any Atelier Sophie streams, but lo and behold there was at least one when I wanted to watch it while I was playing through the game.

become friends with bigger streamers and insert yourself onto their streams to get their audience, plan and bait LSF clips to get new viewers

you'll never make it if you just want to play a game and chat, because there are hundreds of thousands like you on the platform, most of them with 0 viewers

your best bet is to give up on "making it" and just stream for funsies with/for your friends
