If you want to make rent proportional to income, that gives no incentive to property owners to ever rent to low income.

Unless you're wanting the government to own and rent out the low income rental places, but then that is the government controlling more stuff than people want them to.

It's so cringe worthy how people can look at government policy consistently screw things up and come to the conclusion that the solution is more government policy.

Raising the minimum wage puts people out of work.
The government backing housing loans drives up the cost of housing.

Yeah..bc depending on the good will of very rich people will make things better, right? I do believe in a happy medium, but removing the government completely could throw us back 100+ of achievement in labor conditions and make for an even bigger economic inequality.
