Current Events > Alright. I'm behind on the news. Can someone explain the Trump impeachment?

I havent paid attention in about 6 months or so. Whats going on? What is the timeline? I know Trump got impeached and something about Ukraine but I know none of those details and nothing else that surrounds those 2 things.

One day I hear that a whistleblower said Trump made some secret deal with Ukraines President

Next day I hear that Trump asked Ukraines President to investigate Biden & his son

(At this point youd ask yourself like I did, why would Trump ask some random president from some random country to do that, and investigate what exactly? Theyre Americans, theyre in the states. Is he trying to get another countrys secret intelligence to do his dirty work? Whatever Ill go back to whatever I was doing, Its just Trump being Trump saying or doing something bad every other day.)

Then the next day I hear that he pressured Ukraines President into investigating Bidens son by withholding military aid to the country. And that Trumps administration lied to Congress about why the aid was being pulled. Then that Pelosi is opening up an impeachment thingamabob and Trump had called her to ask her if he could cut a deal with her.

And now apparently hes trying to throw his Vice President under the bus to try to get the pressure of himself & have the media focus on that instead.

Biden's son was involved with a Ukrainian company that was under investigation and Trump insinuates that Biden used his influence to get the one responsible for that investigation fired. Trump asks the Ukrainian president for help in investigating that which is a big no-no because he's asking for foreign help on getting dirt on a political opponent. This is just what he's outright fuckin' admitted.

There's allegations that he threatened to withhold aid to Ukraine if the president doesn't cooperate with that. There's a lot of talk about how much aid the US gives the country at the start of the phone call before it segues into talk about Biden's son. It was also shown that Trump had stopped that aid a few days before the call, so it just stinks of winkwinknudgenudge extortion.

And this is literally just from the rough summation of the call released by the White House to make Trump look good. So now a lot of people are wondering if the memo Trump wanted to release is that bad, what the fuck actually happened in that call?
