Start working? You don't usually get a position with such a salary unless you've already been working (for years or decades) and either repeatedly move up your corporation's ranks or are actively recruited by industry competition.

Very true, it's possible for surgeons or specialists to earn such a salary right after residency (my parents gently encouraged my sister to specialize, but she focused on peds for half the money). So I guess it could be true for TC if he just wrapped up medical residency.

wow thats the low end for sure, i would not take that job. Most places I'm familiar with (which is west coast + nevada) offer 220-250 for hospitalists base salary and thats 2 on 2 off with 12 hour shifts for a typical schedule. Personally I wouldn't take less than 230.

but i'm talking about pulmonary / critical care,for which i'm hearing 350 on average in the west coast. I personally know several people who took 400+ for their first job.

lol was always an oklahoma hater. My teams are: Cal, and if they arent in it, I root for any pac-12 team. And in the SEC I root for LSU. In the big 12 I root for WVU. In the big 10 I root for Michigan.

Nice TC, keep at it and you'll get to that 500k mark someday. I'm at over half a million a year myself, which is actually fairly uncommon for data entry, but it turns out demand for people who can type 2500 wpm is pretty high.
