Most people are. Just have all your characters talk about power levels and when an actual fight starts, between random screaming noises write dialogue straight from what you hear at the playground when you pick up your third grader son.

Yeah, it's another typical Scotty topic, but he's probably not wrong here. It's a low bar though. Most writers wouldn't create and build up characters only to make them useless halfway through a series.
