Pay is the same. You work 4 10-hour days instead of 5 8-hour ones. It's a far better arrangement as you get much more time to spend with your family that's not lost to commuting.

I'd prefer a cap of 39 hrs and let me flexibly assign it based on my personal needs.

"Work whenever you want" is not a realistic scenario. Businesses cannot maintain consistent hours of operations that way. It would cause actual chaos.

10 hour days where you pick which days you want to work is the best overall deal.

39 Hrs seems to be the scientifically studied suggested limit.

And let Men and Women adjust their schedules based on what they have to do in their personal life.

So have flexible work hrs assigned to people as needed based on what's going on in their life.

Since the Republican supreme court seems to insist that businesses are people, I'd say that's a personal problem for those businesses. If they can't adapt to an ethical working environment, that's on them.

Depends on how Early or Late the shift is.

Obviously GraveYard shift should get better pay then normal business hr shifts. Same with Super Early ones.

But nobody should get reduced from normal hrs.

I've been working a four day work week for 5 years. I work Tuesday through Friday, 11 hours a day.

The % of people with office jobs that could probably do their job at any time of day any day of the week as long as it's still done by a certain date is probably astronomical. I know I fall into that category.

Also it's kind of sad to see Americans (and Canadians too, even more sadly) continually argue over shit like this that a lot of European countries figured out long ago.

Wouldn't matter, even if they adjusted pay, Americans demand and want a higher standard of living then most other countries. And will either seek places with 5 day employment or a 2nd job entirely to meet said standards.

From paying a high mortgage for a fancy house, expensive car loans, the newest model phone, living in a high cost area like the big citys, and so on.

4 day work week would allow a person to do that better.

Ideally pay would remain the same. I don't want a lower salary just because society embraces a four day work week.

Not sure if already said but i assume it would result in thise 4 days being longer days also.

Even if this went through though it wouldnt help me. my job people HAVE to be there no if ands or buts about it. I get a 4 day week every other week though. One 5 day week one 4 day week. Provided I dont get called in at all.

8 hour work day is perfect. I've worked 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 at various jobs from retail to warehouse to labor to trades to healthcare.
My coworkers are trying to fight for 10 hour shifts right now and it literally makes me want to off myself.

I work 4 days, 10 hour shifts and I already take a paid day off usually once or two weeks

This is why "One-Size Fits All" scheduling is bad.
