a little too liberal for me. i do visit every so often because i like beaches. but i make sure to travel at night cause i hate the traffic. if i had to sit through that shit every day 5 days a week i'd blow my brains out.

I loved living on the west coast but the traffic was insane. When I was living in Washington State post college it would literally take me 2 hours to get home from work even though without traffic it was like 45 minutes >_>

They also just legislated more rent control even though every economist worth their salt agrees that rent control is idiotic and counterproductive.

California made a good step by banning private prisons but then took two giant steps backwards by making the housing situation even worse. They need to build like 100x more property, not fuck with rent control.

I live in San Diego, I'm definitely leaving California next year. Too many ***holes here, and traffic for some reason has gotten worse. Not as bad as L.A but pretty bad.

Its not a bad state but its crime rates, gangs, homeless rates, pollution, fires, traffic, etc means its not the best. Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, and Hawaii are some states that are better.

This reminds me of a story

It was a warm spring night, about 5 months ago. I was parked outside of my wife's job, waiting for her shift to end because our other car was in the shop. She was slightly delayed, so I just sat there listening to music with the headlights on. It's one of those cars where they just turn on always, and you can't click them off with the key in the ignition.

So suddenly, a dog walks in front of my parked car. He noticed me, perked up a tad and I got a couple of lazy tail wags. Then he reverted his attention, began to squat down, and took a pretty impressive shit. Right in the lights of my car, like he wanted me to watch as it happened.

It made me think a bit, I even took a pic as it happened because it felt like a special moment.



I realized in that moment, things could be worse than that steamy pile of shit a dog just dropped in front of my car. I could live in California.
