I didn't get the hype at first when I got my new monitor. Seemed smoother but not $500+ worth. But then I went back and capped Overwatch at 60fps and damn. It's night and day. I used to think 60fps was pretty smooth and 144fps was gimmicky but nope. Comparing them, there is a lot of stutter you just kind of ignore on 60fps if you haven't experienced higher fps.

I always thought it should be better past 60 but can't really test it. the main thing is that if something moves across the screen very quickly, you can see that there's only a couple frames at most of the object that actually got rendered, and you can make them out. if you had incredibly high frame rates, then even lightning fast movement like that should still be super smooth. at least hypothetically.

Once you go high refresh it's hard to go back. Even on my iPad Pro it's very noticeable in non gaming tasks.

I have a 144 Hz monitor but I don't have anything that my current specs can run at 144 FPS, even at 1080p.

Best I get out of FH4 is like 90 FPS, which is smooth but not different from 60.

What GPU are you running?

I have a 144 monitor and a 100 ultra wide. TBH I dont see the difference.

Depends what games/applications you use. I'm using a CHG90 (144hz/super ultrawide) and it's made FPS (eg CSGO) feel a bit more responsive when I play.

GTX 1070. I built a new PC but ported over my old GPU because I'm waiting for the next generation of Nvidia stuff before upgrading that.
