It was something like that, something discriminatory against smokers in regards to healthcare. But I think its a silly argument because you dont really know what that persons value to society is and have no way of truly judging that. What if they are destined to save the life of someone, or to make some breakthrough in technology or medicine? You dont know.

Plus, you can care for many people that are destructive to themselves and even others, like say a serial killer or a really mean and bad boss or a corrupt politician, without knowing.

It is honestly scary to imagine living in the world that these users were arguing for.

Where I work, smokers do have to pay an extra monthly charge. I believe its done by the company, not government, but its directly connected to our healthcare plan.

i don't know what tf you are talking about.

you aren't charging them more because their life is less valuable, you'd be charging them more because their expenses would be more due to a choice they are making, so they pay more to offset those additional costs they add to the system
