One of the things that bugs me about RDR2 is cooking, to cook an animal you have to either a, skin it, or b, pick it up to then drop it on the ground to skin it, I don't know why you have no cooking option with an animal on the ground so you have to pick it up to drop it again.

Item switching in Sekiro. Cycling through items and prosthetics is a sure-fire way to use the wrong thing. I pretty much ended up only keeping my healing gourd in the item slot.

This usually completely stops them from making my list. Easy games are hardly ever memorable for gameplay. They gotta have a really really good story or something

Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix:

Fake fireball ended up making Ryu stronger than he needed to be. I know it clashes with the design philosophy a little bit, but he really didn't need any changes.

Blanka taking more damage during hroll is stupid.

Akuma not being locked in online. Sure, all the good players know why we don't pick him, but you got some tools on occasion. Way back when. Way back. :(

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown:

Some of the cool stages from the original version are missing!

No one fucking plays!

I could go on about the Persona series. MC death = game over is stupid. It's stupid because you're forced to use demons that resist light/dark. Which means that there's no viability for low grade demons in high level parts. You're very limited in how you can build demons and give them certain skills. They're locked into specific roles. Creativity with team builds are stunted since your teammates are forced to use their Personas and the skills they're open to are limited. All of that ties into the MC dying equaling instant game over.

I don't know why Persona simultaneously tries to be and not be SMT.

Mine is also from RDR2. Sometimes its just L2 to aim and sometimes its L2 then R2, I can never figure out the rhyme or reason. Or Im just too dumb to remember. Always screws me up...

This applies to pretty much any open-world game: 24 minute days.
I know, I know, it's a visual treat to have nights and days, but dawn and dusk being ten minutes apart breaks my sense of immersion. If at all possible, I'll mod the game to have a 1:1 timescale. The difference that makes in ambiance and immersion is truly hard to describe.

Too many flashback cutscenes in Pokmon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers

Loot having ridiculously low drop chance from rare/ unique enemies in Borderlands 2

Can only have 3 Pokmon spawned at a time in recent Smash Bros. games. Should be at least 6, Melee allowed way more

Days Gone: Fighting hordes. It's mostly optional except for like 3 story missions but it's the only thing that I flat out don't like in the game. Just isn't fun to me.

BoTW: Weapon durability

Nier Automata: The gundam/flight missions.

MegaMan 3 - Wily's fortress was pretty much an after thought. The stages are fairly short, there are few enemies, and the bosses are too easy (assuming you're using weaknesses). If you know what you're doing even as a casual player you can breeze through the whole 6-stage fortress in about 10min.

Animal Crossing and City Folk - I haven't played anything after CF so I'm not sure if this has been changed, but I always disliked how no matter what time of year the sunset begins around 5pm. It would be neat if the concept of longer days and shorter nights began in the Spring, or Winter Solstice as it does IRL.

Power Rangers, and the MMPR Movie game for SNES - In the first game you had a really long health bar, and the bosses didn't have one. In the movie game you only get 5 health points, and the bosses have a long health bar. Also since I'm bringing it up, movie games that have nothing to do with the movie.

Mario 64 - Bowser should have been more difficult. At least in the second fight make it so you had to throw him into two bombs instead of just one. Adding the tilting platform wasn't much of a difficulty curve.

Sonic Mania : As good as the levels are, a number of the boss fights fall flat, especially the final Eggman fight

Stellaris: I love designing empires, exploring the galaxy, and then I meet a bunch of AI empires who faff around, exploration ends, and I can either wage war repetitively or hope the Khan spawns and does something interesting. I lose interest in runs a lot.

Victoria 2: There's something super fascinating about the nation-building aspect. Overturning history's apple-cart: a mighty, independent Persia or a United States of Central America that survives to become a shining beacon of liberal democracy, teeming with immigrants. Teching though? Teching sucks, especially when you're some podunk backwater with rock-bottom literacy. It takes forever, and you need it all. It's so easy for everything to go to hell: a GP spheres you and strangles your economy. A GP gets a bee in its bonnet and crushes you like a bug with its vastly superior MIL tech because they started with 70% literacy instead of 5%. Worse: there are many, many more wrong ways to do it than right! Or you could be stuck twiddling your thumbs for years while that badly-needed invention refuses to fire!
Oh, and don't play as the USA, because you'll never get out from under the endless event spam.
