That's actually what I work about half the time, with another quarter of the time being 6-3:30 and the rest being 7-whenever we're done. You're on the road before traffic builds, home at 4PM. I like it.

A couple of years ago I was commuting into New York City. My alarm was set to 3:30 AM, we left at 4, got to the city by 5, left by 1, home by 2. Only problem was that I would be falling asleep by 7:30 PM. Pay was great, though.

I didn't like that shift either. Kind of chops the day in half. I liked the 6 months of graveyard better.

It's the best option available where I work.

Swing shift is 3-11:30.
Graveyard shift *shudders* is 11pm-7:30am.

Mine was 2200 - 0600. I had good people on the shift which helped too. In the winter you could still get home before sunrise.
