Noticed that both the Zoe Quinn topics got closed by the OP so starting my own.

One user posted about how it is a good thing employees can get rid of anyone they want if they think they are rapists. No proof needed.

Protections need to be in place to stop people making fake claims. Im not sure why people dont think this is necessary.

Twitter isn't the place for rape accusations. That's what police stations are for.

On social media/in public? No.

In the proper channels? Yes.

It is too easy to say 'so and so raped me' but it takes a lot more to go to the police or other authorities.

Regardless of what the law says and does, the court of public opinion is way too powerful.

As someone who was falsely accused of domestic violence, no, it absolutely should not be illegal to accuse other people of committing crimes against you.

Oh you too? My girlfriend's parents coached our kids into lying on me.

Why just rape?

People accuse the parents of dead children of being involved in clandestine government conspiracies online.

but Police ask questions while Twitter outrage mobs don't. key difference for capitalizing on reputation destruction, attention, and e-begging for fat stacks of dollars.

As long as it is true, then I don't have a problem with it. But it needs to be reported to the police.

Doing that isnt harmful in and of itself. But what can be harmful is other people taking action against the accused and believing it happened without a proper investigation.

I think amassing an internet mob should be treated the same as inciting a riot.

This is the problem here tho. That's a giant "if" hanging there. Which is why it's not the place for it. The place for it is somewhere that can actually help prove it and move to the next part of the process

The metoo movement wouldn't have gotten any traction if they kept it behind closed doors like that. The problem is false accusers, not public accusers.

You're just making statements that make you sound good but don't actually work on any level. You can't prove who is or isn't a false accuser, so nothing you say has any actual helpfulness. Do you plan on using the honor system? Lol

Public medium makes investigators put more resources into it. So much shit used to be swept under the rug.
