Darmik 08/28/19 10:23:35 PM #1:	I can think of a lot of examples in video games Solid Snake -> Raiden Master Chief -> The Arbiter/Locke Dante -> Nero Marcus Fenix -> JD/Kait I guess Star Wars sorta counts but each trilogy is its own distinct story. Pretty much invariably, they go for something different, which in fairness why else would you introduce a new character, but their efforts to make the character different eclipse their efforts to make them good. Darmik 08/28/19 10:37:10 PM #8:	Locke is the weirdest one to me. Like he was just sorta there. I guess Master Chief is too but then why have two characters like that? I don't think I've seen anyone wondering if he's in Halo Infinite. There's just total apathy. On top of that they clearly saw controversy for The Arbiter and they did it again. I know as a Halo fan I want to. I think Gears did it well, Marcus is basically with you for about 70% of Gears 4 anyway. Im glad Resistance was brought up because that really was unheard of to switch out the MC on the 3rd game but it worked.
