It was promising at first, then awful with the bugs and the record heat, but got better at the start of August. Then I found out that a relative was sick and ended up dying a few weeks later.

I do, but I generally take more time off in winter for christmas/thanksgiving.

Taking a long weekend for labor day though

Well, here in Las Vegas I'm always going to answer this question the same way, far too long. It is also far from over, it's going to be at least 109 every day through Sunday, September 1st, and summer usually continues until at least mid-October here. Heck, waiting outside on Black Friday a couple years ago was miserably hot and everyone was sweating, it was still in the 90's even then.

I really think I squeezed as much out of it as I could

- 2 trips to the new beach house (one during 4th of July weekend)
- Friend and I started renovating my basement
- Pool parties and cookouts
- Wakeboarding at the cable park and at the lake
- Took the family to Great Wolf Lodge
- Wife and I took a trip to Texas (did some good hiking there)
- Kayaking/Paddleboard trip with the guys to The Great Dismal Swamp (it looks a lot cooler than it sounds. Some of the scenery was unreal)
- Traditional birthday weekend at the beach last weekend (took the boat to a deserted stretch of beach)
- Frisbee golf with my dad at an awesome course we've never played
- Took daughter on her first hiking trip. She's only 2 and she loved it so I'm excited about that
- Did a Savage Race and was by myself for this one but ended up having a lot of fun in it
- Saw Iron Maiden and Blink-182 on back to back nights (they both still put on some great shows)

Still have a few things left like taking a 5 day hiking trip to Utah in a few weeks with my best friend. Going to do 3 days hitting some of the biggest hikes, taking a road trip through the desert, and then spending a day at Lake Powell jet skiing.

We're also training for our yearly Tough Mudder run. It sucks that its in Nov this year

One final hiking trip to Georgia in Oct

I wanted to get scuba certified, but my friend who also wanted to do it had an accident and couldn't be underwater for 4 or so months. I'll add that one to next year though. Tons of wrecks around here to explore

Been a decent summer, not looking forward to shitty fall and winter but my games will help me cope with the garbage seasons.

Each year I value a good spring and summer knowing that it will suck ass when the cold seasons occur.

The 2020 Farmers Almanac report was released about an hour ago.

This upcoming winter sounds like it will be quite brutal. :(

Awful, my wife was pregnant with hyperemesis, and I lost my uncle to myelofibrosis.
