Iirc you need to buy insurance with the ship that will allow you to re-buy it at a discount with in-game currency should get destroyed. In the real game, ships can be lost permanently, but most ships are going to have life-time insurance or monthly insurance to allow them to be replaced for free or cheap, with the exception being ships that you obtained through illegal methods unless you go through the steps to get it "legally" in your name. --- It feels like they're pretending. The issue is that a lot of the game systems are still not online and a lot of the content-based pipelines are so ambitious that they haven't hit on a satisfying product yet. --- It feels like they're pretending.
