Yes, yes it was. I rarely play through a game start to finish twice. I played through Half Life 2 four times.

most older games simply can't compare, except with a very expensive pair of nostalgia goggles

but back then when there was no comparison, older games were mindblowing

Ocarina of Time for example was extremely crisp and the world felt giant and magical and mysterious and wonderful

Was Halo already out back then? Not really sure what it was being compared to
