I mean, they're likely not in production so a new one will cost a lot depending on who is selling because retro game prices are stupid as fuck....Just get a used one. those things are like Teflon anyway.

At this point with the market being so flooded with knock offs, I'm worried I'll get a used one that'll just be a used knock off.

Maybe I'll go to GameStop and see if they'll let me hold and inspect their used controllers before I buy 'em. It's just gotta feel right and have the right weight to it. I'm gonna be playing my PS3 for years and years to come and I need that rumble, so a dualshock 4's not ideal.

joysticks can be messed up. buttons being inaccurate. if a pro at fixing a ps3 controller it would be a good choice to buy used.

Vibration is one of the worst things to happen to gaming. Thank fuck it can be turned off.

back then i bought a rumble pak that had 4 memory slots. loved that thing. got it around christmas time for my N64.

They'll definitely let you, they may even let you try it out on an actual PS3 if it's not too busy. It's also warrantied for 30 days I think, so if you change your mind, full refund or exchange.
