I guess the question I would pose to you is this: are there, in your opinion, candidates in the race who do not come with warts in some form or other? I personally have moved to backing Bernie now that Mike Gravel has dropped from the race, but I don't think that Bernie is above criticism in regards to his framing of policy (in terms of class vs identity politics). I don't know that there's a candidate out there who hasn't harmed any minority communities in some way.

That's a fair question. It seems that I like all the candidates less as I find out more about them.

Firstly, all investigations into this have shown that there is no evidence that she was using this to get ahead and even less evidence that it meant she got in "at the expense of a minority".

Also back to the intent thing, you're assuming here that she was told "Liz, you're 1% Cherokee" and she said "Good enough!". If she thought she was 16% Cherokee, is that enough to claim that as ancestry? Do you need to be over 50% in your mind?

It's easy to admit the mistake after she was exposed as a fraud. If she really wanted to owe up, she wouldn't have taken the DNA test and admitted that she lied.

Everyone knew she is a white woman and to take that DNA test was an insult. And then she had the gall to claim that she's a Native American after the test came back to determine that she was 1/1024.

I voted for Hillary first time around. Warren is my 3rd fave candidate now. Gabbard and Yang are clearly the best though. I like Gabbard a tiny bit more except I want her to ignore min wage and just initiate the basic income assistance program.

I'm about 20 percent Native American but don't make a big deal of it like some other people with much smaller percentages do. It seems pretty sad to identify as a race before you identify as an individual.

Anyway I don't really like her but I think people are making a bigger deal of this than is necessary. It would be one thing if she had said or done something negative toward them in some way, but if she feels a kinship toward them for whatever reason and wants to help them out with the legislation she's pushing it can't be that bad.

Wow, I guess one has to have a full on meltdown to convince someone that they're offended. What Warren did was not okay. She apologized for a reason. It's fine if you or anybody else wants to forgive her, but saying that people aren't really offended is a deplorable right wing tactic.
