They sacrifice a girl every year - there's no pod of white light, they just murder her in cold blood - to power up the Gibborim. In exchange, the Gibborim promise to wipe humanity clean and allow six members of the Pride to live in the paradise that will follow. Note that there are twelve members of the Pride.
