Clinton lied under oath, as I recall... obstruction and then perjury. Idiot. Oh, and Graham and others were all hysteric about "cleansing the white house" lol... he was never removed from office, though.

Are you talking about Andrew Johnson? He was never removed from office... it was by like one vote, though. And the thing on which the impeachment was based was ruled unconstitutional later on... I don't remember that well... something about removing people from office without a legislative check on the president or something like that.

Nixon resigned before he could be properly impeached. Coward.

Both Johnson and Clinton were impeached by the House of Representatives, but to be removed from office requires adjudication by the Senate. In both cases the Senate failed to convict by the required 2/3 majority vote (by a single vote in the case of Johnson).

The House Judiciary Committee had written up articles of impeachment against Nixon, however, he resigned before they could be voted on by the House.

Coward? I thought it was smart he knew he was fucked so why waste everyones time. Real shame cause iirc hes one of the only presidents who actually delivered on his campaign promises and not just like one or two of them. At least ive heard wasnt exactly alive back then.

I wouldn't go around glorifying Nixon if I were you. His Supreme Court picks (Burger, Blackmun) were instrumental in enabling the all but universal financial corruption in US politics we see today with Buckley v. Valeo, a case that slippery sloped us all the way to Citizens United.

When i said shame I meant that he fucked up in other ways. I dont see things in a black and white manner. Even when i feel a person was largely bad i can recoginize things they did I respect or was good. And vice versa i can admit when someone i like fucks up.
