It's case by case mang. There can be great home schoolers just like there can be terrible ones. And there can be great public schools just like there can be terrible ones.

I might have agreed with you 20 or more years ago. But nowadays, schools have such low standards and find every excuse they can to pass/graduate failing students that they might as well be homeschooled.

no it should not be illegal. just because a few people had a bad experience with it doesnt mean it should be done away with. maybe you could implement some way of monitoring homeschooling to make sure its going well, but its ridiculous to want to take away that choice for everyone just because your experience sucked

I was homeschooled, and I'm staunchly against it, as is my family.

Parents still have to go to meetings and expos to learn the protocol and required education, but it's the most regressive, bass-ackwards curriculum out there. My parents weren't aware of how bad it was beforehand and regret it.

Not to mention the lack of socialization from it. That's just as much of a necessity as general education itself. It shouldn't be outlawed, but it REALLY needs to follow different standards that are akin to institutions.
