if you can wait, I would. But I've had the switch since day one, and I haven't had really any complaints about the battery life, or I should say a point to where I would notice "man, this is losing battery way too quickly."

If you see yourself ever wanting to play on your TV then the new isn't for you at all. Nothing wrong with waiting but I think you would like the original one better.
