Immortal means you never die of natural causes thus living forever, but someone can still shoot you in the head and kill you. You are thinking of invincible where you can't be harmed but it doesn't mean you will live forever.

Also I wouldn't take it. Who the hell wants to shrink to three feet tall and be wheelchair bound for hundreds of years before someone finally does you the favor of putting you out of your misery?

I think old people can stay healthy they just have to continue exercising and eating right.

Didn't humans used to die in their twenties?

Average life expectancy is the past is skewed badly by the severe infant mortality rates.
When your chance of surviving to the age of one is essentially a crapshoot, that tends to fuck up the numbers.

Literally no point, eventually you'll be a mass of bones and tumors on a feeding tube. Your mind will severely deteriorate and over enough time diseases like Alzheimer's will be unavoidable; you won't be you regardless of the fact that you're alive.

Immortal just means the individual isn't susceptible to entropy, it doesn't necessarily mean they can't be killed.

That just means you'll end up in a awful rotten body barely made usable by a constant stream of drugs until you get cancer.

Immortality, but you keep aging and can still be killed.

That wouldn't be true immortality since the body would eventually be destroyed just from typical decay.

Pretty sure immortal means never decaying along with never dying.

Edit: just went through the thread. Cant believe this topic essentially boiled down to atrophy/entropy neither of which can occur with immortality. Like, the two are completely incompatible.

Thats what I mean. Like the topic itself doesnt make sense because it just doesnt make any sense. I guess maybe like aging without the process of actually aging? Like, just going through the process of looking like youre aging for the hell of it?

Idk.

There is no such thing as immorality. You would still eventually die from an accident as the survivability of anything is 0% on a long enough timescale. And chances are it would be painful and horrible, unlike dying in your sleep.
