This game is so well made with just enough detail and level design that it shits on all the open world games out there

I can replay this game dozens of times and not get bored. Last game that was like this for me was resident evil 4.

So many single player games focus on a large map with tons of repetitive objectives and those get boring. This game just shits on all of them. This is my GOTY.

It offers less replay value than souls games because there's no real customization.

Also I'm on NG+ and the guardian ape is back to being cheap as shit again. His hitboxes are so inconsistent.

I don't find it anywhere near as replayable as Bloodborne or Dark Souls because there's really only one way to play Sekiro.

Imo it cuts away from the distraction from leveling up with souls and puts more focus into the actual combat and gameplay.

It easily has the best combat out of all his games by far

best combat true, but in the end doing something, fighting with 90% the same movesets all the time for 40 hours is tiring. there is no variety at all.

there are some other real problems in the game:
-loot sucks.
-progression sucks
-most upgrades are useless whether it is skills or prothetics.
-stealth system is half assed and a respawning enemies really hurt stealth system.

to elaborate on the last point, i have played LOTs of stealth games. from the original thief 1, to the new hitman games, to indie games like styx: masters of shadows, mark of the ninja to other type of stealth games like shadow tactics: blade of shogun.

there is one common aspect in all of these games: persistence. everything, or at least almost everything in the level persist until the level end, or context that serve to re-populate the map.

in thief, you kill or knock out a guard, it stays forever and the consequences ripples trough the level. it also features game AI that react to your actions in at least a believable way (still abuseable but it's a videogame) that leaving a body in the light is a bad decision, getting spotted have consequences etc.

in sekiro, all the souls mechanics (dying alot, reviving with the map repopulated) is so counterintuive to what makes enjoyable stealth game so enjoyable. enemy respawn in the same place, move the exact same way, aggro the exact same thing. after several times, it just isn't fun.

thankfully it is optional but the game still revolve around stealthing than engaging enemies naturally like dark souls. the stealth is definitely my least favorite part of sekiro.

It's not as enjoyable as Soulsborne but it's more enjoyable than any open world game outside of HZD.

I like the concept of focusing on pure gameplay, but I really don't like parrying and so, it's rather mixed bag for me.
