I mean, are graphics and performance THAT important to you for the price?

If yes, then go for it. I personally would not spend that much even if I comfortably had the money.

Why do you think you need...that one?

It's crazy expensive. You can get a really good one for no more than $2,000.

If you're gonna spend that much on a laptop, build a desktop.

You can easily get a laptop with a 2080 in it for around 2200 to 2500, that sounds like a rip-off to me. I just bought a laptop with a 2070 in for 1500 although I bought it from microcenter.

I knew a guy who ran crysis i think on his lap top back when that game was new. Odd that played fine but he couldnt play Skyrim at max settings.

My school program required a really strong laptop (i7, 16gb of ram etc). It didn't require a GPU, but ultrabooks and gaming laptops were the only computers that met their bar. Since they're both the same price, why not go with the gaming laptop instead of the ultrabook

The major issue with gaming laptops is that they're too big and heavy to really be portable, and the battery life sucks

kinda ruining the point of it being a laptop

Eh it worked well enough for the guy I knew that used one. Yeah he always kept it plugged up but he would move it around the house take it to other peoples houses etc.

not really, everywhere has outlets for chargers these days. Fuckin buses and trains have outlets. The only place you wouldn't have an outlet is in your car or away from civilization.

That's a rip off.

here's what you need to know: an i9 processor is rarely worth it in a laptop as they typically cannot cool them well enough. One in a 17 inch might be okay, check review sites first.
16gb of ram is fine but most laptops can be opened up and you can put in your own ram. If you're comfortable with this, it's cheaper to buy one with 8gb of ram and just get your own ram and put it in.
SSDs are the same deal, far cheaper to buy a 1tb high quality one for about 150 bucks instead of getting an "upgrade" for like 300 bucks for a mid tier one.

all that really matters is gpu and throttling. Check notebookcheck.net for the model and see how it performs.
Don't bother with a 4k screen for gaming or anything about 60ghz screen

a 2070 or 2080 is recommended for gaming to last about 3+ years. But laptops are prone to lesser lifespans so take care of it.
