The owners usually have this "fuck you, crybaby" attitude almost invariably and contribute more to the problems with pitbulls than the breed itself.

Well then you need to leave your big fat bias at the door and pay attention to the words you're pointing your eyeballs at.

Is there a statement you wish to refute, or maybe something to contribute outside of "nuh uh"?

Hey, you're the one that jumped in and responded to me with an emotional argument. Don't get pissy because of the way I responded. I have a lot of experience with dog training and canine behavior, I'm not some layman.

You said yourself that more dogs means more shitty breeders, and that its the owners fault......so why do you want more of this dog?

Are you comfortable with the senseless loss of life as long as someone goes to jail for it? This is what Im getting at with my "come back to reality" comments. Youre offering blame in hindsight. That does nothing for the person who had something taken from them.

That's a reach.

A dog attack is way more dynamic than saying "oh, this dog just snapped". Dogs don't snap, there are always precursors to attacks that are either ignored or unbeknownst to the owner that they just didn't pick up. A dog bit a 4 year old child? Why? Was the child left unsupervised? Did he/she try to reach into the dog's food bowl as it was eating or jumped on its back? What happened? Those are the kinds of questions I ask first.

People need education, a more educated dog owner population means better safety for people and dogs alike. Fixating on breed is a lazy approach that doesn't address the core issue, owner responsibility. Owners are responsible for proper management of their animals, they are are supposed to train and socialize them. Is it any surprise that the "family dog" reacts with fear aggression after being chained up in the back yard with no interaction or exercise?

Where in the heck is the free space?

I wouldnt have said it if it wasnt for that image as I was reminded that chihuahuas can also be super vicious the same as many pit bulls, but again thankfully they are not as big and strong or else we could have two very dangerous breeds.

I know a girl with 3 pitbulls and they cuddle with her 3 month old baby. Theyve NEVER hurt her 8 year old son either, or anyone else, because she trained them and is smart enough to tell people not to mess with them while theyre eating. Every time I went over there to hang out with her sister wed end up with all 3 dogs snuggled on the couch with us.

But they would absolutely tear an intruder apart if someone ever broke in. All 3 of them run straight to the door when they hear someone come in

See what I mean? I have seen retrievers who would not bite you if you stuck your hand on their food bowl while theyre eating

I have seen retrievers that would bite you if you stuck your hand in their food bowl. Resource guarding is not uncommon behavior, don't fuck with dogs when they're eating no matter how chill they are.

Why are there more deaths attributed to pit bulls than other dog breeds?

If the owners are always to be blamed then how can we tell the good ones apart from the bad ones?Is there any similarities among the owners? We should be taking a proactive approach when it comes to preventing the bad people from getting pit bulls to begin with.
