It's farther away, smaller, more dangerous crime-wise, and slower than my current place. I told them I'll happily put in hours there whenever they need me, but I don't think permanent transfer would be in my best interest. They then proceeded to tell me they wanted me to transfer because I'm not as fast as they'd like me to be. Besides the commercial manager that sells to giant hop ranches and orchards, and the new assistant manager that literally knows every mechanic because his father is one of the biggest in this town, I'm the the next biggest seller. So I dunno. It was bittersweet tbh. Then just plain soured when they mentioned not everyone is fit for this store. "Congrats on your 5 years, by the way you're too slow and we want you to leave." I think I'm just burned out from retail. Been doing this shit since I was 17. Believe this is the most I've talked in months. About anything. Well there's some solid money and stability in HVAC. That's for sure. It really depends on your goals. If you want financial freedom, go for the trade. You can still maintain your hobbies with any extra money you can put away. If you want to pursue a passion, go to school.
