Trump is really good at making people drop everything and make what's going on 100% about him and nothing else (all he really has to do is make one controversial statement) and everyone immediately drops everything to attack him. Trump has been so demonized that they've put themselves in a position where they can't agree with literally anything that he says, but him being elected was also the result of some people feeling he was saying something worth listening to. And no, not all of them are racist. I think Dems are slowly starting to get over this problem, and you can see it in some of the policy proposals that are starting to come out. Yang and Warren are both openly talking about Manufacturing and the struggles of Middle America when it comes to jobs. Warren is openly writing plans to combat China's growing influence and deal with some of the issues we've had with them over IP theft. The best way to beat Trump is to acknowledge that he was elected by people who had real concerns that they thought weren't being addressed, and while they have manifested those concerns in unreasonable and unseemly ways like trying to build a giant wall, that there's a seed of truth to their actions. --- "History Is Much Like An Endless Waltz.
