It has some issues, but overall I'd say it is even better than the Castlevania games, even SOTN and Aria of Sorrow. Of course, the game is new so my opinion may change over time.

I just started playing it tonight, it's gorgeous, handles so well. It's a pretty amazing game, i'm blown away. This could have been a $60 AAA title and i'd buy it if I knew how good it was before hand. It's quickly becoming my favorite game of the year.

I don't mind being overpowered in action rpgs, but this game let it happen to quick. I don't feel I was challenged. Actually I feel it's super lazy in that tanking everything is a option. They should of have the other difficulty unlocked from the start.

Minor technical issues aside, it's fantastic for what it is. A solid 9/10 game, 10/10 if those technical issues get resolved in the future.

I'm loving it. SotN has way too many issues that later games fixed, so in a direct comparison, to me RotN is better by FAR.

Aaaannndd it glitched out, I have no head, and it's stuck loading.

If this game is this glitchy, I may set it aside for a while until it's patched.

Yeah, there's a bunch of free DLC coming. Playable Zangetsu (and someone else after that), co-op, etc.

I've been playing the game and I do think it has been really good so far, but yeah, it does have it's technical misteps.

I had a moment where I swung a great sword in water, and I have yet to gain a swimming ability. I ended up being stuck in a swinging animation floating in water, not being able to jump out or finish the swinging animation. I tried changing equipment but that didn't work. I used a "transformation" shard and to switch into one of those bunny girl demons and back into Miriam and that worked, but damn if I didn't have that shard I may have had to restart the game...

Yeah, I've had that happen before. I'm not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure that happens if you get a shard in (or just before landing in) water without the Deep Sinker passive. I've also had it happen once with the Ambivalence whip charging it in midair before landing in water and then the game just having me stuck in a single frame of the "charging" animation with it on top of the water, only able to move left and right (had a lot of issues before then with weapons that charge not letting me unleash the attack in midair; this aspect ultimately made me keenly aware not to ever use weapons that can charge). Suspending the game does work to resolve it, but it is still very much annoying.

I was watching a DoS playthrough the other day and bloostained barely looks better than an early DS game

Some of the animations are janky as well not a huge deal but I've never experienced that in a Castlevania game

It's solid but not top tier. I think it's not brave enough in trying to innovate the skill system, and it handles a little clumsily.

For the love of god, can I turn off how she says "Take THIS!" every third fucking shot from my pistol?

It's insanely irritating. If I keep shooting, she says it 2-3 times per 10 seconds.
