curious what the public opinion is. yes, there is a "right" answer in terms of pick up, but i'll share that later after some responses

C is my favorite position, you can lean in to whisper to each other, put your hand on her shoulder/leg when needed. Based off this topic, that isn't "basic" information though.

that's acceptable but can be hit or miss, you really need to time it and play it well. however, if the first half the date is bad enough, you may not feel comfortable moving that close. if it's a loud restaurant, and you have to shout to each other, can't touch her, etc that can severely hamper the date

there may not be a second date if the first in a crappy A position doesn't go well. if you spend the first date shouting and mishearing each other over a cold hard table, she may chalk it up to a lack of chemistry and there will be no second date

I then proceed to make sure everything the waiter does is wrong and reduce him to an insect under my foot.

I position myself at home so that I dont have to deal with her bs. Then I play video games.
She usually texts about why I missed the date, so I make up some excuse and then make arrangements for our second date.
